BS Elementary Education - Early Childhood

The Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (Eligible for Credential) program is developed for anybody having interest in the education of children in Grades K-8, and who is seeking teacher certification. The format and courses of the state and regionally accredited program has been made to fullfill the requirements of the adult learner and to fully realize the content knowledge that the student will possess upon graduation. Courses are instructed by authorities in their particular areas of study who share knowledge and experiences in the areas of educational psychology, reading methods, teaching methods, assessment, classroom management, and curriculum development. All courses are directly in conjunction with the Arizona Professional Teacher Standards and the Interstate New Teacher Support and Assessment Consortium Standards. Chances are supplied to make use of ideas, theories, and research entirely throughout the teacher preparation program. Assignments within many of the courses provide guidance to students through over 100 hours of empirical experiences, and the final semester of the program consists of a full-time, 16 week student teaching piece. Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education program are well positioned to become knowledgable educators in public and private schools and other places requiring a teaching credential.
