You are allowed to also choose to delve into another area of early childhood education when you add a specialization to your degree program. A specialization includes four (4) courses, each worth three (3) credits. These courses are taught online as part of your degree program. This program allows for the following specialization:

  • Infant and Toddler Care
    Learn to supply quality care for infants and small children. You'll contribute to the healthy growth of children by earning your specialization in Infant and Toddler Care.

Your classes in this Bachelor of Arts degree program are instructed by advance-degreed instructors with real-world experience in the subjects they teach. In addition, you are allowed to transfer up to 99 approved credits towards your Bachelor's degree and accelerate your degree completion.

Continue Your Education

If you're an aspiring teacher, you are allowed to take advantage of a dynamic partnership between Ashford University and Rio Salado College. Your pathway to becoming an educator starts at Ashford University - where you'll earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education online. Then, you are allowed to choose to get started on your online Teacher Preparation Program through Rio Salado College* where 12 of your Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education credits could be applied towards your post-baccalaureate program.

State unique Teaching Information

Ashford University's campus is located in Clinton, Iowa, but the Rio Salado program leads to certification only in the state of Arizona. Ashford University's program is a bridge to the Rio Salado Program, not a certification program in and of itself. Finishing Ashford University's Bachelor of Arts degree will not qualify you for Iowa or any other state certification. You'll earn Arizona certification through the completion of the Rio Salado program after you have completed your Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education at Ashford University.
